Will the time required for processing my visa be reduced if I need urgent medical attention in Taiwan?
  If your condition is urgent , the International Medicine Service Center is able to contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to help the your process.
   
How do I schedule an appointment with the hospital?
  You can contact the International service center by telephone, email or fax. You can call us on our contact numbers (+886- 4-2205- 2121). Please visit our website on www.ims.cmuh.org.tw
   
If I do not speak Chinese or Taiwanese, how can I get help with communication? When can I contact you?
  Most of our physicians are bilingual (mostly Taiwanese and English). Our International Medicine Service Center provides translation services according to the nature, culture, languages of the patents. We provide interpreter services at our healthcare establishment to ensure that international patients are able to communicate effectively with our medical professionals. You may contact us at any time of the day, 7 days a week with your enquiries. However the best time is during working hours from 08:00~17:00, through Monday to Friday.
   
If my family accompanies me for my medical treatment. Where can they stay?
  When you make an appointment with International Medicine Service, let us know that your family will be staying with you, and we will make the necessary accommodation arrangements. It would be helpful if you can give us an indication of your budget as well.
   
Can I seek treatment in the hospital without a medical appointment?
  It would be better to schedule an appointment before your arrival to minimize delays and inconvenience. The professional staff will assist you in the hospital; with admission and discharge, payment procedures and in simplifying financial transactions, language interpretation, local tours, visa procedures, guidance before and after arrival. We can arrange for consultations, second opinions for treatments, and coordinate appointments. We can also offer cost estimates, interpretater services and travel arrangement.
   
Can I make an appointment with a doctor in the hospital even if I do not have a referral from my local doctor?
  Yes, you may contact our International Medicine Service Center direct to make appointments. We may request medical information about your previous medical treatment and your medical records.
   
When making a medical appointment, what information must I provide?
  You need to state your name, as shown on your passport, your current address, date of birth, your medical problem and the preferred date of the appointment. You must have on hand all relevant information on your medical condition, including x-rays, medical history/records, and your current medication. It is also useful to have supporting documentation on your prescription drugs. Carry the contact details of your local doctor who has referred you.
